What We Believe

In Genesis 1, God created us and He called us “very good.” But as we all know, things are not as they are supposed to be. Our world has become a world of emptiness and brokenness. People look for many ways to fill this emptiness and fix the brokenness but most are unsuccessful.

In John 10:10, Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” We believe the only place we find fulfillment, meaning, and purpose is in a relationship with the One that created us and called us “very good.”

Part of having this relationship with God is having a relationship with His body, the Church. Fresno Christian Reformed Church is a place where we help each other grow and discover the fulfillment Christ offers us. We do this by worshiping with one another, praying together, grieving together, rejoicing together, and challenging each other to use the gifts that God has given us. Ephesians 4:13, “...until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

The Church

We believe the church encompasses more than just the walls or the physical location of the building.  We believe in being a congregation equipped with the knowledge that we are all broken and need the fulfillment and grace of God to bring us salvation.  We believe we are called to be a people on fire for God and to display that light in all that we do.  In doing so, we take our ministry and service outside of the walls and the community and into the world in which we live.  We walk with God and show his grace, through us, at work, where we live, and wherever we go.
